Young Carer Youth Ambassadors ...
Our Young Carer Youth Ambassadors have already been busy this year working alongside the team and ENABLE Scotland to look at emergency planning for young carers, designing a leaflet letting other young carers know what their rights are under the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 and helping to plan and organise an event for young carers in primary school. Watch this space for information about this exciting event.
Young Carer Youth Ambassadors are young carers of secondary school age who want to raise the profile of young carers in Highland, help shape support services and gain volunteering hours.

We ran the second of five residential weekends as part of our 'Connect.Curate.Create' partnership project with Highland Youth Arts Hub.
Over the next six months a group of ten young carers will meet up throughout Highland and their hand a variety of different art and creative activities. So far they have tried out etching and printing, film making, 3D printing, song writing and recording. We can’t wait to see what they get up to next. The remaining meet ups are
9th – 11th March – Lybster
18th – 20th May – Portree
27th – 29th July – Fort William.
Eden Court Creative building skills and confidence ...
Over the next three years Connecting Young Carers will be working alongside Eden Court Creative supporting young carers to get involved in creative industries that build skills and confidence. In the past young carers have produced music videos, zombie films and documentaries.
In October two of our young carers, Grant and Tinisha worked alongside the creative team to write and record their own short film.
Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for other opportunities throughout the year to get involved.
